Malham Cove is a huge curving amphitheatre shaped cliff formation of limestone rock sited up the Dale. Incredible rock formations can be viewed; great for long walks or simple pootles whatever you’re in the mood for Malham Cove is a good starting point.
This former textile mill sits on the edge of Bradford in its own model village which is a world heritage site. A stunning building, it is filled with David Hockney’s artwork amongst other artists whilst also containing many interesting and quirky shops. The café/ restaurant is often busy and worth a visit.
Cow & Calf Rocks
Looming above Ilkley are the famous Cow & Calf rocks, the rocks provide incredible views over the Wharfe valley and serve as a great jumping off point to walk across Ilkley moor. There’s a café and pub for those that don’t fancy a long hike.
Another beautiful but ruined abbey that is worth a visit, especially on a summers day. The National Trust property is a popular destination on warm days and we’d always recommend a picnic and a tour with one of the guides.
About 35 minutes from the park you’ll find Brimham Rocks, a unique rock formation that will have you exploring for hours, children love playing in the rocks with hide and seek been the perfect game.
One of the country’s finest stately homes , it is open to the public. Still privately occupied, the stunning gardens and interior of the house draw thousands of people every year.
Feeling energetic? Walk from the base of the valley at the park to the summit at Beamsley Beacon. Amazing views make the hike up the hill worthwhile and earn you a pint on your return to the village.
The beautiful market town is the last major town/ village in Wharfedale, a popular destination for walkers and those that love afternoon tea, it’s worth a visit to take in the stunning countryside which surrounds it.
